Students appearing for the CBSE Class XII boards exams in 2019 would have to slightly re-tune their strategy, in a good way, after the board has decided to change the exam pattern of English (Core) subject.

As reported by NDTV, this change in exam pattern would result in a question paper different from previous years. This change has reportedly been a result of feedback given by various stakeholders and the subsequent deliberations which followed between subject experts and CBSE’s committee of courses.

According to the report, instead of three reading passages in Section A (Reading) of the paper, there would be just two. Further, in one of the two passages, there would be five multiple choice questions, nine very short answer types and three short answer types questions. In the second passage there would be two long answer type questions.

As a result of these changes, the number of questions in the section have been reduced from 24 to 19. When it comes to the whole paper the total questions would now be 35 instead of 40.

These changes are dubbed as being pro-students in nature as it has been complained in the past that the kids found it tough to complete the whole paper in time.
