Centre Cracks Down On Anti-Nationals: Yasin Malik’s JKLF Banned Under Anti-Terror Law, For Promotion Secession

The Yasin Malik-led Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has been banned under the anti-terror law for "promoting" secession of the state from the Union of India.
After a high-level meeting on security chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the JKLF was banned under various provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. As per reports by Times of India, the Centre believes that JKLF is ‘in close touch with terror outfits.’ It added that the outfit claims "secession of a part of the Indian territory from the union."
“The JKLF has been at the forefront of separatist activities in J&K and was involved in the killings of Kashmiri Pandits in 1989 leading to their exodus from the valley,” said Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba.
Furthermore, the Home Secretary said that the government was relentlessly pursuing a policy of curbing the activities of terror-backing separatist groups which are a threat to the nation.
