Centre Grants Rs 1023 To Odisha, Rs 268 Crore To Tripura For Cyclone Titli Rehabilitation

The Centre has sanctioned Rs 1023.59 crore for restoration and rehabilitation works in Odisha in areas hit by the ‘very severe’ cyclone Titli in October, reports The New Indian Express.

Presided by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, a high-level committee meeting has sanctioned the additional assistance to Odisha from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF).


Cyclone Titli was associated with floods and landslides and had affected 60.31 lakh people in 128 blocks located in 17 districts of Odisha. As many as seventy people were killed in the severe cyclonic storm and subsequent floods and landslides. The committee has also approved Rs 268.63 crore for Tripura.

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, who belongs to Odisha, thanked the Union Home minister for approving the additional assistance.
