Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP)'s Director-General SS Deswal on Monday (16 November) said that the Centre's plan for distribution and administration of the potential vaccine against COVID-19 is ready and that the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) will play a major role in the same, reports Economic Times.
During an interview, Deswal said that the CAPFs including the ITBP are prepared to assist the government in the mega vaccination drive as they have been doing in the past few months by treating patients.
The ITBP DG also shared that the CAPFs will be playing a role in in the plan by the way of vaccination of own troops, their families, and also by helping out the people.
It should be noted that the CAPFs have a combined size of over 10 lakh personnel. Of these, ITBP alone has as many as 90,000 personnel.
