Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah has slammed the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supremo Chandrababu Naidu and said that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would not welcome him back into its fold after the 2019 general elections.

Taking a jibe at Naidu, Shah said that he began his career with the Congress when it was in power, but deserted the party as soon as power deserted Congress, he joined NT Ramarao’s TDP. Shah said that when the opportunity came, Naidu stabbed NTR in the back and stole his party. Again when the Vajpayee government was incumbent, he joined the NDA but left as the government fell in 2004.

Furthermore, Shah asserted that when Naidu realised that he couldn’t come to power without Modi, he joined the NDA again 2014 and right before the Telangana elections, he left NDA and joined Congress, reports Hindustan Times.

Shah went on to say that as soon as the election counting is done, Chandrababu will try to return to the NDA, but all the doors are now closed.

Andhra Pradesh chief minister has recently been on an appeasement drive, placating different vote-banks. After promising reservation under SC category to converted Christians, crores for building churches as well as supporting Muslim Personal Law Board’s fight against Triple Talaq Bill, Chandrababu Naidu has promised Swift Dzire cars for unemployed Brahmin youth.
