The Chinese People Liberation Army (PLA) has attempted to transgress into Indian territory at least three times in the last few days, all of which have been foiled by an alert Indian Army, India Today has reported.

The latest military incursions by China began on the night of 29 August when up to 500 Chinese troops arrived near the Pangong Tso positions of the Indian Army and ran into an Indian post.

The Chinese were soon challenged by the Indian Army soldiers posted at the spot, which resulted in the two sides engaging in hand to hand combat for the next few minutes.

After India subsequently trumped China and captured a strategic height in the region, talks began between the two sides in a bid to diffuse the situation.

Then on Monday (31 August) China engaged in a provocative action for the second time by trying to close in on Kalaa Top and Helmet Top. The alert Indian troops manning the heights spotted them and dissuaded the attack.

Come Tuesday (1 September), China tried to transgress across the LAC into the general area of Chumar. Chinese troops sitting in 7 to 8 heavy vehicles set-off towards the Indian side of LAC but India had already mobilised its troops. Seeing the Indian troops, the Chinese turned back.
