China Orders Shut Down Of North Korean Companies Within 120 Days Of UNSC Sanctions

China has ordered the North Korean firms or joint ventures in the country to be shut within the 120 days of the latest United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions passed on 12 September, reports The Yonhap News.
According to a report in The Indian Express, the Chinese Commerce Ministry said in a statement, that overseas Chinese joint ventures with North Korean entities or individuals will also be closed.
The decision by China comes post the sanctions imposed by the UNSC, which voted unanimously to enhance sanctions on Pyongyang, by banning its textile exports and capping fuel supplies.
The report suggests that China struck a cautionary tone saying it will have no winner in the event of a war on the Korean peninsula.
The Indian Express quotes China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang who had told Reuters that Beijing hopes that the United States (US) and North Korean politicians can realise that resorting to military means would never be a viable way out. Kang also conveyed China's disapproval over the escalation of the war of words between the US and North Korea.
