National Health Commission China has reported the first case of human infection with the H10N3 strain of bird flu in the Jiangsu province in eastern China on Tuesday (1 June).
The state-run CGTN TV reported that the 41-year-old patient from Zhenjiang city is currently in a steady condition and has discharge measures as per a report in Indian Express.
Health authorities understated the outbreak, declaring that this case was an uncommon virus transmission from poultry to humans, and the risk of spreading a pandemic was very low.
H10N3 is a low infective strain of the virus in poultry, and the risk of it spreading on a large scale is very low.
An extremely infectious H5N6 bird flu was found in wild birds in Shenyang city in northeast China in April.

Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
