Coming as a shot in the arm for strengthening Sino-India ties, the Chinese President Xi Jinping is all set to visit the ancient city of Varanasi in October 2019 to attend the second informal summit after Wuhan, to be hosted by Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi, reports The Hindu.

The second informal summit between the two world leaders will also mark the completion of 70 years since diplomatic relations between the two nations came into existence.

Meanwhile, next month will likely witness two senior Union Ministers visiting China.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is expected to visit Beijing for the second meeting of the India-China high-level people-to-people exchange mechanism with the State Councillor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi. Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will be visiting Beijing to address the nearly $60 billion trade deficit between the two countries.
