The worsening weather conditions in Ladakh have begun to take its toll on the Chinese troops, India Today reports.

It has come into light that small portions of soldiers of the People Liberation Army (PLA) have been consistently taken away on stretchers by combat medicos in the previous four days as winter arrives in the region.

These events are a harsh reminder of the dipping temperature at these elevated heights situated 16,000 feet above sea level.

The PLA has built a field hospital near Finger 6 and their evicted troops from Finger 4 have been taken there for further treatment. Moreover, both the Indian and Chinese sides have constructed medical facilities in Depsang as well.

As per the report, the Indian soldiers aren’t immune to the consequences of being positioned at those heights in such gruesome climatic conditions.

However, they are arguably more seasoned in dealing with these scenarios due to prior experience of guarding even more heightened regions in places like Siachen, where posts are situated at heights up to 22,000 feet.
