In a shocking turn of events, the name of Jesus Christ was displayed on the link to the official page of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), reports Times Of India.

As per reports, TTD immediately shut down its official website and later resumed after fixing the issue. They have also ordered a probe to look into the issue.

TTD governs the world’s richest Hindu temple and Andhra Pradesh government has banned preaching of non-Hindu religions in Tirumala.

The display image of TTD’s website link read ‘‘Sri Yesaiah. Sri Venkatesaya Namaha. Sri Vikarinama Samvatsara. Siddastha Panchabdamu. 2019-2020. Yesaiah is Jesus Christ in Telugu.

TTD has also directed its vigilance team to look in to the matter. They want to ascertain that whether the website was hacked or someone from the inside deliberately included the name on the official website.

TTD chief vigilance and security officer Gopinath Jatti was reported saying, “Immediately after the incident came to our notice, we downed the link. We have also initiated an inquiry into the incident and get down to the facts.”

In an interview with TOI, a senior BJP leader was reported saying "People from other faith who are managing to still work in the TTD are willfully resorting to such acts, damaging the sanctity of the age-old Hindu institution. They must be punished for such acts"
