‘Chuddies’, Now The New Indian Entrant In Oxford Dictionary

Indian word ‘chuddie’ which means underpants in English is the latest Indian entrant in the Oxford English Dictionary (OED). The dictionary, which has, over the years, incorporated many such words from the Indian sub-continent, picked up the phrase “kiss my chuddies”, or underpants, reports Indian Express.
The term came into the limelight in the mid-1990s when it was used in the widely popular British-Asian comedy series on BBC television Goodness Gracious Me, by Sanjeev Bhaskar. Bhaskar used the phrase as an Indianised version of ‘kiss my a**e’, which became famous and soon became the talking reference in regular conversations.
OED’s Jonathan Dent said the dictionary will continue its search and will include ‘many more words’ in future updates. The March update of the dictionary is going to have 650 new words, phrases and senses.
