As more and more people are becoming health conscious, carbonated beverage giant Coca Cola is planning to go more Indian, reports Live Mint.

With the launch of carbonated version of jaljeera, Coca Cola is, by now, very much into the new indigenisation mode, with the arrival of its aam panna drink in this sweltering summer. As if this was not enough, the Atlanta-based giant is expected to foray into dairy based products like butter milk, lassi and yogurt by 2020.

Since sugary sodas are seeing a decline world over, Coke is thinking of foraying into the diverse world of Indian traditional flavours to remain relevant.

Gone are the days when the American rivalry between Pepsi and Coke used to dominate the Indian market. Of late, many Indian small scale companies are capturing sizeable scales of shares in the markets in the beverage sector. The juice and soft drink market in India is approximately valued at $ 3.6 billion. The corner stalls and soda vendors have a traction of up to 72 per cent of this.

As the Ayurvedic concept is gaining headwinds -- from toothpastes to the floor cleaners, Coke is also envisaging a foray on similar lines.
