The strained relationship between Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and the media continues after Vijayan shouted at waiting reporters on Tuesday (23 April), Indian Express has reported.

Vijayan who is known for his love-hate relationship with the media in a fit of rage shouted at the reporters to ‘move away’, the reporters were waiting to get Vijayan’s reaction to the massive turnout for the elections on Tuesday.

He later barged outside and rode away in his car without speaking to the media persons.

In a meeting between RSS and the ruling party (LDF) last year, the minister was seen shouting ‘Get out’ at the reporters and camera persons assembled for the meeting.

Kerala went into polls on Tuesday and witnessed a heavy turnout of 77.68 per cent, the highest in 30 years.

Candidates will be contesting for 20 Lok Sabha constituencies where voters will be exercising their ballot at 24,970 polling stations. The state witnessed 79.3 per cent turnout during 1989 Parliamentary elections.

The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) are expected to put up a fierce fight to get maximum seats.
