In a letter addressed to CPI General Secretary S Sudhakar Reddy, Jayant Jigyasu, secretary of the All India Students Federation (AISF)‘s JNU unit has resigned while levelling several serious allegations on Kanhaiya Kumar, as reported by DNA.

AISF is the CPI’s student wing and Kanhaiya Kumar, a member of the AISF, served as the president of JNU students union. In his letter, shared as a post on Facebook, Jigyasu resigned from the primary membership of the party as well as AISF.

"Anyone who wins elections in JNU gradually turns away from the organisation's activities and responsibilities. Somewhere it is caste arrogance and somewhere it is class arrogance,” Jigyasu wrote in the post.

He has also accused Kumar of casteism and having deceived the JNU student committee on several occasions.

"Comrade, I do not know if this has been brought to the AISF's top leadership or not but Kanhaiya, the person with whom the entire progressive section was standing when injustice was done to him, betrayed the JNU's student community. When all organisations were fighting against the administration's compulsory attendance diktat when all student organisations were boycotting attendance, Kanhaiya was the first person to sign the attendance sheet," the letter reads.

He also wrote of class and caste struggle within the party and that the barriers backward communities face in moving towards leadership roles. He said that some people have hijacked the organisation and these goons are a danger to his well-being as well.

"Dalits, backwards, tribals and minorities can work under anyone but people from so-called upper castes cannot naturally accept the leadership of Dalits-backwards-tribals. There are so many layers of insults, how one escapes all of them, fights them?" he asks in the letter.

The allegations of casteism and class discrimination against Kumar are serious as communist ideology espouses a classless society without any kind of discrimination.
