All domestic commercial flights have been ordered by the Civil Aviation Ministry to cease operating effective 11.59 PM tomorrow (24 March), only cargo planes will continue flying in the Indian skies, Shiv Aroor reports.
This ban has been put in place for an indefinite period and airlines have been instructed by the civil aviation ministry to land all their aircraft ahead of the deadline.
India has already banned all international flights from entering the country from 22 March to 29 March in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Indian Railways has already cancelled all passenger trains including metro and suburban services till 31 March.
