Four individuals travelling on a Garib Rath train to Surat were found marked with a home quarantine stamp. They were subsequently de-boarded at Palghar railway station, ANI has reported.

The four suspected Coronavirus patients have been accused of violating the quarantine protocol. They had recently returned to India from Germany.

As per reports, passengers raised alarm after noticing the stamps and alerted the railway authorities. They were then handed over to the medical staff.

The Maharashtra government had recently announced a plan to stamp the left hand of each individual undergoing home quarantine so that they can be identified if found mingling among the general public.

The ink used for the stamp is designed to last for 14 days - the duration of the home quarantine. The stamp will also detail the dates of the quarantine. The total number of positive cases in Maharashtra have risen to 42.
