Coronavirus In India: 10,974 New Cases Raise Covid-19 Tally To 3.54 Lakh; Here's The Latest State-Wise Breakup

The Covid-19 tally in India recorded a spike of 10,974 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total case count in the country to 3,54,065, the Union Health Ministry data revealed on Wednesday (17 June).

According to the Health Ministry, of the total, 155,227 are active cases while at least 186,935 people have been cured of the disease.

The number of Covid-19 fatalities in the country has increased from Tuesday's 9,900 to 11,903, as 1,672 backlogged deaths were added to the total death toll.

Maharashtra, which has emerged as the worst Coronavirus-hit state in the country, has so far recorded 1,13,445 cases, including 5,537 fatalities, and 57,851 recoveries. Tamil Nadu followed with 48,019 cases. The Covid-19 tally in Delhi has crossed the 44,000-mark with as many as 44,688 cases recorded so far in the national capital. Gujarat has reported 24,577 cases so far.

States with most casualties after Maharashtra are Delhi (1,837), Gujarat (1,533), Tamil Nadu (528), West Bengal (495) and Madhya Pradesh (476).

States with more than 9,000 cases are Uttar Pradesh (14,091), Rajasthan (13,216), West Bengal (11,909) and Madhya Pradesh (11,083).

Among other states/UTs where Corona cases have surged past 2,000-mark are Haryana (8,272), Karnataka (7,530), Andhra Pradesh (6,841), Bihar (6,778), Jammu and Kashmir (5,298), Telangana (5,406), Odisha (4,163), Assam (4,319), Punjab (3,371) and Kerala (2,622).

According to the Health Ministry, 8,273 cases are being re-assigned to states.
