Coronavirus In India: 9,887 New Cases Raise Covid-19 Tally To Over 2.36 Lakh; Here’s The Latest State-Wise Breakup

With the highest daily spike of 9,887 new cases in the last 24 hours, India's total case count of coronavirus jumped to 236,657, the Union Health Ministry data revealed on Saturday (6 June).

According to the Health Ministry, of the total, 115,942 are active cases while at least 114,073 people have been cured of the disease.

At least 294 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total fatality count to 6,642.

Maharashtra, which has emerged as the worst Coronavirus-hit state in the country, has so far recorded 80,229 cases, including 2,849 fatalities, and 35,156 recoveries. Tamil Nadu followed with 28,694 cases. The Covid-19 tally in Delhi has crossed the 26,000-mark with as many as 26,334 cases recorded so far in the national capital. Gujarat has reported 19,094 cases so far.

States with most casualties after Maharashtra are Gujarat (1,190), Delhi (708), Madhya Pradesh (384), and West Bengal (366).

States with more than 8,000 cases are Rajasthan (10,084), Uttar Pradesh (9,733) and Madhya Pradesh (8,996).

Among other states/UTs where Corona cases have surged past 2,000-mark are West Bengal (7,303), Karnataka (4,835), Bihar (4,596), Andhra Pradesh (4,303), Haryana (3,597), Jammu and Kashmir (3,324), Telangana (3,290), Odisha (2,608), Punjab (2,461) and Assam (2,153).

According to the Health Ministry, 8,192 cases are being re-assigned to states.
