A school in Uttar Pradesh’s Noida has been shut amid suspicion of spread of the coronavirus after a Delhi resident, found positive for the virus, attended a birthday party last week, News18 reported.

The patient who contracted the virus in Italy had attended the party with his children and their schoolmates.

The school has also reportedly cancelled exams scheduled for today, and the state medical authorities are going to the school for inspection so that preventive measures can be taken.

Noida District Magistrate BN Singh said, “The Indian who came back to Noida after contracting coronavirus in Italy has been identified. One of his children, studies in a Noida school. He had met some children at a birthday party. Our team is looking into this and quarantines are being done in Delhi. We have arranged 10 beds. There is no need to worry.”

Two individuals were recently tested positive for the CoVid-19 in India. The other person was tested positive in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Both the patients are in a stable condition and are being closely monitored, according to concerned authorities.

Earlier, as many as 85 Indian students studying in Italy had issued an SOS‌ call to be rescued by the Government of India in the light of the Novel Coronavirus outbreak in the European nation.

The 85 students belong to the university town of Pavia in the northern part of Italy’s Lombardy region which has reported as many as 17 deaths over the past few days as an outcome of the Coronavirus outbreak.

Earlier, three Coronavirus cases were suspected in Kerala but the patients were subsequently discharged after they tested negative in subsequent tests.
