Coronavirus In India: Number Of Infected People Rises To 62 As Kerala, Maharashtra And Karnataka Report New Cases

The total tally of Indians infected by Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) surged by 18 to reach a total of 62 on Tuesday (10 March) with eight new cases having been reported from Kerala, five from Maharashtra, four from Karnataka and one from the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), reports Times of India.

In Maharashtra's Pune, a couple, their daughter, one of their co-travelers and the driver of the cab in which they drove from Mumbai to Pune have all tested positive. The couple, their daughter and the co-traveller were part of a larger group of 40 individuals who had traveled to Dubai as tourists.


The Government has also reached out to religious institutions asking them to organise festivals and rituals without any mass gatherings. Kerala government has also called for postponing marriages and large private gatherings till the end of March.
