Coronavirus
The Naveen Patnaik led Odisha government on Monday (16 March) announced a slew of measures to combat the coronavirus outbreak after the state recorded its first positive case.
As part of the measures, the state government has promised a monetary incentive of Rs 15,000 to those coming from abroad after they register with the state agencies and self-quarantine for 14 days, ANI has reported.
As per the directive, anyone who comes to Odisha from abroad would have to compulsorily register themselves either on the toll free number 104 or on covid19.odisha.gov.in.
Those foreigners or foreign returnees who have entered the state on or after 4 March have also been asked to register within 48 hours.
The directive also warns of criminal action under relevant sections of the IPC against those who fail to comply with the order.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
