Coronavirus update
The total number of people confirmed positive for the coronavirus in India has increased to 35,043 while 1,147 deaths were reported across the country, as per the latest data updated at 8 am today (1 May) by the Health Ministry.
According to the Health Ministry data, the confirmed cases of Covid-19 include 34,932 Indians and 111 foreign nationals.
Additionally, the total number of discharged/cured patients has risen to 8,888, while one patient has reportedly migrated to Singapore as per the latest data.
The total number of active cases across the country stands at 25,007 at the time of writing this report.

With 10,498 Covid-19 positive cases and 459 deaths, Maharashtra is the worst affected state in the country. Gujarat has the second-highest number of Covid-19 cases in the country with 4,395 infections. Delhi has 3,515 cases, followed by Madhya Pradesh’s 2,660.
