Coronavirus Update: Record 8,909 New Cases Raise India’s Covid-19 Tally To 2.07 Lakh; Here’s The Latest State-Wise Breakup

With the highest single-day spike of 8,909 new cases in the last 24 hours, India's total case count of coronavirus jumped to 207,615, the Union Health Ministry data revealed on Wednesday (3 June).

According to the Health Ministry, of the total, 101,497 are active cases while at least 100,303 people have been cured of the disease.

At least 217 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the total fatality count to 5,815.

Maharashtra, which has emerged as the worst Coronavirus-hit state in the country, has so far recorded 72,300 cases, including 2,465 fatalities, and 31,333 recoveries. Tamil Nadu followed with 24,586 cases. The Covid-19 tally in Delhi has crossed the 22,000-mark with as many as 22,132 cases recorded so far in the national capital. Gujarat has reported 17,617 cases so far.

States with most casualties after Maharashtra are Gujarat (1,092), Delhi (556), Madhya Pradesh (364), and West Bengal (335).

States with more than 8,000 cases are Rajasthan (9,373), Madhya Pradesh (8,420) and Uttar Pradesh (8,361).

Among other states/UTs where corona cases have surged past 2,000-mark are West Bengal (6,168), Bihar (4,155), Andhra Pradesh (3,898), Karnataka (3,796), Telangana (2,891), Punjab (2,342), Jammu and Kashmir (2,718), Haryana (2,652) and Odisha (2,245).

According to the Health Ministry, 7,123 cases are being re-assigned to states.
