Covid-19 Relief: Reliance To Set Up 1,000 Bed Centre With Medical Oxygen In Gujarat's Jamnagar

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) will set up a 1,000-bed COVID-19 medical oxygen facility at Jamnagar in Gujarat.
While a 400-bed hospital with an oxygen facility will be started in the next five days, the facility will be scaled up to 1,000 beds in a week or so.
RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani has directed the company officials to build a 1,000-bed COVID-19 hospital in Jamnagar where RIL operates the world's largest crude oil refinery, reports CNBC TV 18.
RIL is aiding Covid-19 management efforts in many ways including supply of medical oxygen and setting up Covid-19 facilities.
It has installed the required equipment and set up processes at its Jamnagar oil refinery in Gujarat to produce over 700 tonnes a day of medical-grade oxygen which is being supplied free of cost to states badly affected by Covid-19.
The produced medical grade oxygen is being supplied to states like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh providing relief to over 70,000 critically ill patients everyday.
During last year’s lockdown, the company provided over 5.5 lakh litres of free fuel, supporting over 14,000 ambulances across 249 districts in 18 states.
RIL also donated Rs 556 crore to various relief funds including PM Cares.
