The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has taken up a major initiative to train its troopers who had lost their limbs in operations in areas of cyber security, artificial intelligence and paralympic sports, reports Economic Times.

CRPF has signed a deal with a disability support NGO christened Aditya Mehta Foundation to implement the initiative. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the same was signed between the force and the NGO in the presence of CRPF's Director General (DG) AP Maheshwari.

The development comes as a major boost for the the CRPF troopers who had lost their limbs. The count of such personnel over the past ten years stands at 189. The initiative would help create newer opportunities for such personnel to remain an integral part of the force.

Meanwhile, in a separate event, DG Maheshwari also handed out job appointment letters to a family member of 20 personnel of the force who had lost their lives in the line of duty. The beneficiaries received offers from companies like Wipro, Toyota, Dream Studio, Virtusa and Garcorp.
