Road repair (A representative image)
The Cuttack district administration has started using social media to monitor road repair work in the city and has formed a WhatsApp group called ‘Dussehra Road Safety’, ahead of Durga Puja.
The group created by Collector Aravind Agarwal contains all the district-level officials of line departments, including Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), JICA, Odisha Water Supply and Sewerage Board, Roads and Building, Public Health Engineering Organisation and others.
Presidents and secretaries of all the 160 puja committees of the city were also added to it.
A deadline has been fixed for commencement and completion of the work while the administration has identified and prepared a list of 200 roads to be repaired.
Besides, a team of 15 officials has been formed to inspect the work in all 59 wards of CMC. The members of the team were also added to the WhatsApp group. Residents of the city have appreciated the move of the administration, as reported by TNIE
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
