The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested a man related to Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal in the Public Works Department (PWD) scam case, the New Indian Express has reported.

According to reports, the man arrested by the ACB has been identified as Vinay Bansal, son of Kejriwal's brother-in-law Surender Bansal.

On 9 May last year, the ACB had registered three FIRs in the case for forgery and cheating. One of these FIRs was against a company named Renu Constructions, run by Surender Bansal with two other men - Kamal Singh and Pawan Kumar.

Vinay Bansal is also partner in the aforesaid company, News18 has reported. According to the channel’s report, Vinay Bansal was unable to give satisfactory answers when he was questioned in connection with the scam by the ACB.

According to the Roads Anti-Corruption Organisation (RACO), Kejriwal and PWD minister Satyendra Jain misused their office for grant of contracts to Bansal.

RACO said there were irregularities in granting of contract to Renu Constructions in April 2015. As part of the contract, the construction company was to build a drainage system in north-west Delhi’s Bakoli village. The work on the drainage system, reports say, was not completed by the company.
