The Delhi Metro Grey line connecting the Blue Line’s Dwarka metro station to the Dhansa bus stand in Najafgarh is set to open for the public by the end of the year, Rail Metro Analysis reports.

The five km-long stretch would give people in Najafgarh metro connectivity. The Dwarka station will also become an interchange facility and also provide better connectivity to the outer Delhi neighbourhood.

The metro station would also have a multi-modal integration (MMI) model, under which an additional parking facility would be provided near the station to accommodate the increased traffic in the area.

Officials said they faced problems during construction was that it was interfering with operations on the existing Blue Line. According to a Financial Express report, another challenge faced by engineers was construction over the Najafgarh drain and had to conduct a detailed hydrological study for the zone.
