The Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda section of the Red Line of the Delhi Metro (9.63 km-long) is set to be inaugurated soon, and preparations are underway for it, according to authorities, reports News18.

This elevated section comprising eight stations would reportedly benefit the people of Ghaziabad immensely and would connect the satellite city with the national capital.

The stations along the section would be Shahid Nagar, Raj Bagh, Rajendra Nagar, Shyam Park, Mohan Nagar, Arthala, Hindon River Station and New Bus Adda.

The new section is an extension of the 25.09-km Rithala-Dilshad Garden corridor or Red Line, which has 21 stations. The entire Red Line would become 34.72 km long after the opening of this section.

"Trains will be available at a peak hour frequency of six minutes and twelve seconds on the Dilshad Garden-New Bus Adda section. A total of 35 six-coach trains will be used on the entire Rithala New Bus Adda Red corridor," Anuj Dayal, Executive Director, Corporate Communications, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), was quoted as saying by News18.

"All the station buildings would have at least two TOM (Ticket Office Machine) counters with one counter located at a lower height for a facility of differently-abled commuters," the DMRC said. The constant traffic on GT Road was a significant challenge while constructing this section.

This section would be the second metro corridor in Ghaziabad, after the Blue Line, that links Delhi and Vaishali.

"The corridor will be the first metro link to connect the interiors of Ghaziabad. It will pass through the Sahibabad Industrial Area as well," Dayal said.

After the opening of this section, the DMRC's span in Uttar Pradesh would be 52.85 km.
