Delhi Police DCP Amit Sharma who was injured during the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) violence in Gokulpuri on Monday (24 February) has now regained consciousness and is out of danger, ANI has reported.
Following his injury he was rushed to a hospital where he underwent surgery last night. He subsequently underwent a CT scan and his health is now stable.
A Delhi head constable Rattan Lal though lost his life yesterday in the violence. He is survived by his wife and three kids. At least nine other policemen are said to have been injured.
One of the violence makers identified as Shahrukh had brought a gun to the protest site and fired at least eight rounds at a policeman. He has now been detained.
