Dhauladhar Peaks Now Visible From Jalandhar As Coronavirus Lockdown Leads To Cleaner Environment

Amid the nationwide lockdown imposed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, the environment in witnessing a positive change.

Social media users have shared various posts showing the wildlife taking over the streets, birds sitting on their houses etc. Various reports have pointed towards a decline in overall pollution levels in the nation.

In one such incident, the Dhauladhar range, which is part of a Himalayan chain of mountains in Himachal Pradesh, has become visible to the people of Jalandhar, which is situated around 200 km away in the state of Punjab.

Indian Forest Service (IFoS) Officer Parveen Kaswan took to Twitter on Friday to share a picture in which Dhauladhar range is visible from Jalandhar.

Cricketer Harbhajan Singh also shared a picture of Dhauladhar range from his rooftop in Jalandhar.

As per IE report, New Delhi saw its AQI falling below 95 last week — a big reduction from its monthly average of 161 from March 2019. Other megacities too have witnessed a similar drop in pollution levels.
