ED To Take Over Probe From NIA Against Sachin Waze To Investigate Terror-Cum-Extortion Racket: Report

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is set to launch a probe under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) against Sachin Waze upon the receiving the preliminary investigation report from the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The ED will inspect the alleged terror-cum-extortion racket in the city after former police commissioner Param Bir Singh’s expose that state home minister Anil Deshmukh had ordered Waze to collect Rs 100 crore monthly extortions from Mumbai.
Waze’s call records apparently confirm that he was directly in contact with Deshmukh and these allegations have also been reiterated by his seniors. The ED will take over the investigation against Waze to corroborate the money trail in the aforementioned racket.
In fact, the involvement of senior Shivsena, NCP and Congress ministers in this entire malicious syndicate cannot be ruled out as per a report from the Times of India.
Currently, Waze is under the custody of the NIA but this multi-agency probe could probably uncover several aspects of the conspiracy that were hidden from the public eye so far.
NCP supremo Sharad Pawar mentioned on Sunday that the allegations against his confidante Anil Deshmukh were ‘serious’ and laid the responsibility of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to decide the further course of action.
