The Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday afternoon (27 February) summoned the acting High Commissioner to lodge a strong protest against Pakistan’s unprovoked aggression, ANI has reported.
This aggression has included Pakistan’s violation of the Indian air space and the targeting of military installations.
The MEA also strongly objected to Pakistan’s decision to parade the Indian Air Force pilot who is now in the latter’s custody. This “vulgar display” is in violation of International humanitarian law and the Geneva Convention.
It has also demanded that Pakistan ensure no harm comes to the Indian pilot while adding that it expects his immediate and safe return.
MEA has also made it clear that instead of ensuring action against terrorists, Pakistan decided to launch an aggression against India.
India has maintained that its air strike was non-military, anti-terror operation against the Jaish-e-Mohammed as opposed to Pakistan’s aggression against India’s military installations.
