Even as Pakistani prime minister Imran Khan is preaching peace and talking bout de-escalation with India, his minister Ali Muhammad Khan has gone on record to invoke Muhammad bin Qasim and Mahmood of Ghazni on India and calling for ‘Ghazwa-e-Hind’ (holy war against India).

A Twitter user shared a clip from a programme aired on Pakistan’s Geo News channel where Pakistan’s Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan is calling Pakistanis descendants of Islamic invaders in India. You can see the full programme here.

“While Khan Saab [Imran Khan] reminded Narendra Modi that we are the descendants of Tipu Sultan, and that we may die but not live a life of humiliation, I wish to remind him of Muhammad bin Qasim and Mahmood of Ghazni,” Ali Muhammad Khan is seen saying.

It may be recalled here that Muhammad bin Qasim was the first Islamic invader into the Indian subcontinent whereas Mahmood of Ghazni was the Afghan ruler who invaded and looted north and north-west India, including the Somnath temple.

“Ghazwa-e-Hind is bound to happen. Are you too eager for it?” Khan further said.

The idea behind Ghazwa-e-Hind stems from several Hadiths (narrations/traditions of Prophet Muhammad) which predict an Islamic invasion of India before the ‘end of times’ which will lead to the successful conquest of the sub-continent by the attackers. Although their veracity has been doubted by some Islamic scholars, the narrations have been used as an ideological fuel by terror-groups to propagate terrorism against India, particularly in Kashmir. The Ghazwa-e-Hind is used to provide religious inspiration to the youth to sacrifice themselves committing anti-India activities.

The minister went on say, “Not only our 22 crore Muslims but 30 crore Muslims on your side too would rise against you in the name of Islam, Mister Modi, and you would then not find a place in Ganga-Jamuna but in Arabian Sea.”

This follows Pakistani railways minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad’s recent statement in which he threatened India with a nuclear war and declared that no bells would sound in Indian temples.

Sheikh Rasheed had said, “If anyone will stare at Pakistan with an evil eye, his eye will be gouged out, and then no grass will grow, no birds will chirp, and no bells will sound in temples, as Pakistan is that bastion of Muslims that Muslims from the world over look up to.
