US President Donald Trump with Prime Minister Narendra Modi (@PMO_India/Twitter)
US President Donald Trump during talks with Prime Minister Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday (25 February) called his India experience a great honour and especially mentioned the Namaste Trump event held in the Motera stadium, which played host to a packed crowd of 1.25 lakh people.
While talking to Prime Minister Modi, Trump acknowledged that every-time he mentioned the Prime Minister the crowd cheered more.
“People were there maybe more for you than for me. 125 thousand people were inside. Every time I mentioned you, they cheered more. People love you here”, Trump was quoted as saying.
Trump also said that both he and the First Lady were awed by India’s majesty and exceptional generosity and kindness. Trump added that he will always remember the welcome accorded by the people of Gujarat to him and his delegates.
Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
