Eye Of ISI In India: Mohammed Pervez, A Regular Pakistan Visitor, Held For Spying; Honey-Trapped Jawans For Information

Rajasthan Police on Monday (25 March) detained a 42-year-old man for allegedly spying on Indian nationals for Pakistan's intelligence agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), reports NDTV.
According to India’s Additional Director-General (Intelligence) Umesh Mishra, Mohammed Pervez was already arrested by the National Investigation Agency or NIA for anti-national activities and was in judicial custody since 2017. He was brought to Jaipur on Monday for interrogation, following which the state police arrested him.
During interrogation, Pervez revealed that he was in touch with ISI handlers and that he had travelled to Pakistan "17 times in the last 18 years.” It is alleged that he honey-trapped Indian Army jawans using false identity to collect classified information and passed on the same to ISI officials. It is also claimed that Pakistan’s agency provided the requisite material and financial support for this operation.
“Pervez got mobile SIM cards on photo and identity card copy of people on assurance of quick visa formalities done at the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi. Conniving with SIM card retailers, he got the numbers activated to share information with his handlers,” said Mishra.
Another One Bites The Dust
On 11 March (2019), a man named Nawab Khan, a resident of Sam area, was arrested on suspicion of being involved in espionage activities. Khan who worked as a jeep driver, was questioned by a joint team of India’s security agencies for his alleged dealings with the ISI. Investigations are still underway.
