Bihar Governor Ram Nath Kovind, who will be the National Democratic Alliance’s nominee for the presidential election scheduled for next month, has denied favours to his own family, one of Kovind’s nephew, who lives in his ancestral village in Jhinjhak of Kanpur Dehat district in Uttar Pradesh, told Indian Express.

Kovind’s family, which includes his four brothers and three sisters, has 27 children. According to Kovind’s nephew Deepkar, who currently works at a government-run primary school, many of these 27 children from the family asked him for favours in form of better jobs, but never got any.

“Ram Nath uncle had four brothers and three sisters. They have 27 children in total. Some of them asked for favours from Ram Nath chacha for a better job several times. But he denied it,” Deepkar told Indian Express.

Maine jaise swayam safalta paayi, vaise tum log bhi mehnat karo (The way I have achieved success on my own, all of you should work hard too),” Deepkar quoted Kovind as having said in the past.
