Farmer protesters in Punjab's Bassi Pathana city today (13 January) gathered outside a movie set to demand actor Jhanvi Kapoor's opinion on farm law protests, ANI reports.
The protesters reportedly left after getting assurances from the film crew. It has been reported that Kapoor supported the protesting farmers earlier this week by "recognising and valuing the role they play in feeding the nation".
Kapoor is reportedly in Punjab to shoot for her upcoming film Good Luck Jerry.
Incidentally, the news of farmer protesters confronting actors comes at a time when they have been vandalising over 1,500 towers of Reliance Jio while alleging that the company is anti-farmer. In one case the farmers have been accused of stealing a generator from a Reliance Jio tower and then giving it to a local Gurudwara.
The farmer protesters recently received a big boost when the Supreme Court stayed the implementation of the farm laws until further orders. The court has also constituted a four member committee to mediate between the centre and the farmers but the latter have refused to appear before it.
