Farooq Abdullah Greeted With Chants Of ‘Har Har Mahadev’, ‘Modi, Modi’ In Srinagar Temple By Kashmiri Pandits

Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and the president of the National Conference (NC) Farooq Abdullah was heckled by a group of Kashmiri Pandits while he was visiting the Zeastha Devi temple in Srinagar, reports India Today.

According to the report, upon Farooq Abdullah’s arrival to the temple, a group of Kashmiri Pandits surrounded and greeted him with angry sloganeering. Some of the people booed him and chanted slogans like ‘Har Har Mahadev’ and ‘Modi, Modi’. Abdullah and his supporters. The NC chief, who had reportedly gone to the temple to meet the Kashmiri Pandits, tried to pacify the people but failed.

The report cited some of the Kashmiri Pandits present at the temple as saying that leaders like Farooq Abdullah were responsible for their plight in Kashmir and elsewhere.

The Zeastha Devi temple is considered one of the prominent place of worship among Kashmiri Pandits. Thousands of Kashmiri Pandits are reportedly visiting the Kashmir Valley for the religious pilgrimage to the shrine.
