At a meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) yesterday (21 June) in Florida, the United States, France and the United Kingdom along with some other prominent countries are said to have voiced concerns over Pakistan's failure to act against terror perpetrators over its soil, reports Economic Times.

Several countries expressed disgruntlement over Pakistan not registering cases against terror war lords, Hafiz Saeed, Masood Azhar and other UN-designated terrorists under the nation's anti-terror laws.

Another anomaly irking the major FATF members, US, UK, Germany and France is that Pakistan's anti-terror law still remains out of sync with the FATF standards and the latest United Nations (UN) resolution 2462, which calls for criminalising terror financing.

It should be noted that in a bid to bluff the much powerful FATF, Pakistani authorities have shown arrests of LeT, JeM, JuD and FiF cadres. However all were apprehended under its Maintenance of Public Order Act and not under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
