A Bollywood movie based on the life of former Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, under whose leadership the airstrikes on terror launch pads in Pakistan's Balakot were executed, will be made soon, reports Asian News International (ANI).
The movie will be titled 'Golden Arrows' which is one of the most revered squadrons of the Indian Air Force (IAF). The No. 17 Squadron is based in Ambala and is home to the brand new Rafale fighter jets that the IAF has just begun to receive from French aerospace major Dassault Aviation. Previously, the squadron has also housed fighter jet Mig-21.
The film on Dhanoa's life has been titled after the prestigious squadron, as during the Kargil war, Dhanoa was commanding the Golden Arrows and leading the IAF's pushback against Pakistan's nefarious attempts to nab Indian territory. The IAF had played a vital function in India's victory in the war which proved a major embarrassment for Pakistan.
After 41 years of glorious service to the nation, Dhanoa retired last year on 30 September as the Chief of IAF, handing over the charge to the incumbent Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria.
The film will be directed by Kushal Srivastava, and its casting activity has already begun.
