First Phase Polling Underway: 18.12 per cent voter turnout In West Bengal, 17.5 Percent In Mizoram till 9am

The voting for the first phase of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections is underway. As many as 91 constituencies in 18 states and two union territories are going into the polls in this phase of the parliamentary election, NDTV has reported.

The first phase covers all the Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh (25), Telangana (17), Uttarakhand (5). The phase will also witness polling for two seats each of Arunachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Meghalaya and one seat each of Chhattisgarh, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar as well as Lakshadweep.

This phase of the general elections will also cover eight seats of Uttar Pradesh, seven seats of Maharashtra, five seats of Assam, four seats each of Bihar and Odisha, and two seats of West Bengal.

According to the news agency ANI, till 9am, 18.12 per cent voter turnout was recorded In West Bengal, 17.5 per cent in Mizoram, 10.2 per cent in Chhattisgarh, 10.6 per cent in Telangana, 10.2 per cent in Assam, 13.3 per cent in Arunachal Pradesh and 15.6 per cent in Manipur.
