Betting big on the e-commerce growth and prospects in Haryana, United States (US)-based Walmart backed Flipkart has set up four more fulfilment centres in the state ahead of the festive season, reports Economic Times.

Fulfilment centres are specialised facilities where products are received from sellers across the region, processed and packed, and then sent to sortation centres and delivery hubs for delivery to customers.

The four warehouses have come up in Sankpa, Yakubpur, Kulana and Rewari with a total area of over 12 lakh square feet and a storage capacity of over 30 lakh cubic feet. These will help create 12,000 direct and indirect job opportunities in the state.

It should be noted that with the four new facilities, the total count of Flipkart’s fulfilment centres in Haryana has now reached 17. Together, these facilities have an area of 44 lakh square feet, and create around 22,000 thousand direct and indirect job opportunities.

As per the company's statement, the new fulfilment centres (warehouses) will help create deeper capabilities to support thousands of sellers, MSMEs, small farmers from the state to cater to the growing customer demand, create more employment opportunities while enabling faster deliveries for consumers.
