Former Shivsena Corporator Booked In Kalyan As Hundreds Attend His Daughter's Wedding; Violate Covid-19 Norms

Former Shivsena corporator Sunil Vayle has been booked as hundreds of people attended his daughter’s wedding in Kalyan and subsequently violated the Covid-19 precautionary norms that permit only 50 invitees per wedding.
Along with Vayle, his relative Suresh Mhatre and the hall’s manager Ramesh Singh too have been charged with IPC section 188 (disobedience of order duly promulgated by public servant, sections 269 and 270 negligent and malignant act likely to spread infection of any disease dangerous to life) along with other sections of the Disaster Management Act.
Citizens had demanded strict action against Vayle ever since the video of the wedding that he hosted went viral on social media.
The guests were reportedly not wearing masks and thus failing to adhere to several Covid-19 norms. “Due to such politicians Covid-19 cases are increasing but due to these people normal public will have to suffer. Is CM Uddhav Thackeray going to take any action against their own party’s leader?” one of the individuals was quoted as asking by the Times of India.
Kalyan-Dombivli is the second-worst pandemic-affected region in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and even recorded a massive 1,244 Covid-19 patients and four deaths due to the same on Saturday.
