Former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Shah Faesal, who recently founded a political party called Jammu and Kashmir Peoples’ Movement (JKPM), on Sunday (31 March) said that his party would be the biggest platform for the youth, but will keep the doors open for politicians having “unblemished record”, reports Times of India.

According to the report, Faesal and other senior party leaders, including former People’s Democratic Party (PDP) leader Javaid Mir, reached Jammu on a three-day visit on Saturday (30 March) to garner support for the newly launched political outfit.

The bureaucrat-turned-politician was reportedly addressing a gathering in the Jammu.

Responding to a question of a man among the audience as to why the party inducted Mir into its fold, Faesal was quoted as saying, “It is good that young people are linking with us, but we need experienced persons as well".

"Politics is not a child's play which you run like a school. It needs experienced persons like Mir who had an unblemished record during his 20 years of political career. Nobody ever raised question about his integrity and we are proud that he decided to join hands with us," he said, as reported by TOI.

The ex-IAS officer said every other party would have liked Mir to join them, but he had put everything at stake by joining us.

"The JKPM will be a big platform for the youth but we need experienced hands because this is a challenging state. We will welcome the people who have unblemished record," he said.
