Four Jet Aircraft Grounded After Non-Payment Of Dues To Lessors; Passengers Being Accommodated On Other Flights

Jet Airways yesterday (Thursday, 7 February 2019) informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) that due to non-payment of dues owed to lessors four aircraft belonging to it have been grounded, reports Business Standard.

The airline explained that it is in contact with its lessors to solve issues between them and is trying to reduce as much as possible any possible disruptions to its operations; it is reaching out to passengers who have been affected is is re-accommodating them on other flights.

The company also stated that it keeps aircraft lessors updated on the course of action being taken by it to better its liquidity. It added that the lessors have expressed support for the work the airline is doing to handle the situation.

Jet has also been in touch with authorities regarding the issue. "The company also continues to provide required and periodic updates to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)," it stated.
