Minister of Education for Tripura, Ratan Lal Nath, has informed that along with the NCERT books, there will be CBSE syllabus in the schools in the state. A committee has been set up to look into the change in syllabus by the BJP-led government in Tripura.

All government and government-aided schools in Tripura from now on will have the NCERT and CBSE syllabus.

India Today quoted Ratan Lal Nath as saying, “I was surprised by media reports on this issue. I inquired and found that the syllabus has got a chapter on the BJP, the Congress, the CPI(M), the CPI etc. School textbooks have also got mention of rigging and booth capturing.”

On 3 December, a team consisting of NCERT experts will visit Tripura in order to facilitate a three-month training course for teachers on the new syllabus.

The Minister further on went to say, “We shall introduce NCERT textbooks and CBSE syllabus completely from the next academic year, because the students in our state were lagging behind the national standard. We want them to be as competitive as students of other states,” India Today reported.
