Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) are updating their courses to make them more industry relevant for the 2019-21 batch, Economic Times has reported.

The newer batches are likely to be involved in more role plays, live projects, experiential learning through outbound activities and interactive teaching sessions with faculty members and people from industry.

“Considering that over half the PGP batch enters the programme with little or no work experience, they find it difficult to fit these disparate pieces into the jigsaw puzzle called management,” academic dean at IIM Calcutta Runa Sarkar was quoted in the report as saying.

IIM Kozhikode has introduced a course called Leadership 4.0 and those on the dynamics of machine learning and AI in 2018. IIM Indore is likely to focus more on participant-centric learning process through simulation and live cases according to its Dean of Academics Ranjeet Nambudiri.

IIM Bangalore is not planning any course revamp, but it will be focusing on its course on entrepreneurship.
