Govt Allows Covid-19 Vaccination At Public, Private Workplaces From 11 April

In a bid to further boost the Covid-19 vaccination drive, the Health Ministry on Wednesday (7 April) allowed the workplaces in both the public and private sector to organise vaccination sessions from 11 April.
The Health Ministry has written to all states and union territories (UTs) that COVID-19 vaccination sessions may now be organized at work places (both public and private) which are having about 100 eligible and willing beneficiaries by tagging these workplaces with an existing COVID Vaccination Center (CVC), an official release said on Wednesday (7 April).
The ministry further said that guidelines have been issued to states and UTs to to support them in this initiative.
However, it should be noted that only employees aged 45 years or more will be eligible for vaccination at work place and no outsiders including eligible family members will be allowed for work place vaccination.
The session will require the beneficiaries to register on Co-WIN portal prior to vaccination, and the work place management will designate one of their senior staff to work as “Nodal Officer” to coordinate with district health authorities, private COVID Vaccination Centres (CVCs) and support vaccination activities.
